AltaGlobal net is about security

Thursday, March 10th, 2005

Website monitoring, site and network security and network monitoring are the primary interests and focus of AltaGlobal.net. The explosive growth of networks of all types and sizes as well as the incredible expansion of the worldwide web and global networks has resulted in the need for easily available information on multiple aspects of network and website management and monitoring. Security has become a major concern for many.

As a part of the AltaGlobal family we are just beginning to develop this particular site and shortly should have the start of an article collection in place as well as highly targeted pages focused on different aspects of network and site monitoring as well as internet and network security.

We plan to offer resources, information and links to mission critical needs for the intranet and internet marketplace.

As you are no doubt aware, security and monitoring are two aspects of what boils down to the same thing - making sure that you have 24/7 connectivity and that no one is messing with your sites (sorry about the language, but face it, there’s entirely too many hostile programs running loose).

As a personal note, whenever I’ve used an FTP program my security software inevitably reports multiple attacks by trojan horses. Sure they’re all blocked, but does every PC, every point of internet interface have adequate protection on your system?

It’s not a choice anymore, everyone needs at least adequate (preferably, superior) protection in an increasingly hostile network environment.

Our intention is to provide guidance on some of the best solutions available along with information related to these critical issues.
